German light tank of World War II (official designation Panzerkampfwagen II - abbreviated PzKpfw II) which was the standard production model from mid-1938 to April 1940 with 1,113 built by various manufacturers. In version C the undercarriage construction was improved, five independent support wheels and 4 track support wheels were used. The earlier versions had a rounded hull front, but many had additional armour bolted onto the turret and hull front. Some were retro-fitted with commander's cupolas. It was armed with a 2 cm KwK 30 gun and a 7.92 mm Maschinengewehr 34 machine gun. 524 of the Panzer II Ausf .F (the final major version of the Panzer II) were built between March 1941 and December 1942.
