A Hand-forged samurai sword in carbon steel from the JOHN LEE series. A masterpiece by a trained Asian blacksmith.
- The blade of the sword is hand-forged from carbon steel and hardened in the traditional way.
- The steel is folded 12 times (resulting in approximately 8,000 layers) and has a beautiful damask structure.
- The sharply sharpened blades were provided with a bo-hi (channel) to reduce weight.
- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with genuine fish skin (sama).
- The handle wraps (tsuka-ito) are traditionally made of black cotton.
- Two menus are inlaid on the handles.
- The sword shafts are particularly long and attached to the handle with two bamboo pins (Mekugi).
- The sheaths (saya) are made of wood.
- The blade clamps (Habaki) are made of brass.
- Made according to museum templates.
