The Roman gladiators were determined to fight a very brutal close combat in the arenas of the Roman Empire. So a very popular weapon was a short stabbing sword or dagger.

This Gladiator Dagger is a fine quality replica of a Roman Gladiator weapon found during the excavations of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. It has a very precise hand carved bone handle. The blade is forged from factory blunt carbon steel and is therefore perfect for home display, reenactment use on stage and on the battlefield. Gladiator weapons were simply only carried into the arena. That is why we do not offer a scabbard for this dagger. As they are made of natural bone, small cracks in the hilts are naturally common. Such small blemishes are authentic as well as characteristic and do not impair the quality or structural integrity of the hilts.
