Bronze Age blacksmithing techniques were used in the manufacture of this 1060 carbon steel blade. Each piece is forged and hardened in a clay jacket to create a visible hardening line (hamon).

Differential hardening gives this magnificent sword a harder edge and a softer blade - an unmistakable characteristic of high-quality weapons. Tsuba and handle are made of solid brass.

The wooden handle, covered with genuine tea-colored stingray skin, has a traditional Japanese cord wrap.
