Officially licensed movie replica from The Lord of the Rings, by United Cutlery
Gil-galad, born Ereinion, was a Ñoldor Elf and the last High King of the Noldor in Middle-earth. His legendary spear was called Aeglos, Sindarin for snow-point. With this weapon he fought alongside Elendil in the great battle of the last alliance of Elves and Men at Dagorlad against Sauron's army. What happened to Aeglos after Gil-galad's death is unknown. On the spearhead is a runic inscription in Elvish Sindarin: Gil-galad ech vae vaigennen matha, Aith heleg nín i orch gostatha, Nin cíniel na nguruthos, Hon ess nín istatha: Aeglos which roughly translates to: Gil-galad wields a well-made spear. The orc will fear my ice-point. When he sees me, in fear of death. He will know my name: Aeglos.
